Gallery Lombardi is closing for good on Jan 15th.
That’s a serious blow to Austin’s gallery scene.
UPDATE: Alleviating my concern that I might be dealing with gossip or rumor-mongering, Seeing Things sees what I sees.
—-PSA ———–Gallery Lombardi RIP—————–
Gallery Lombardi will close it’s doors on Jan. 15th, 2009. […] Proprietor Ron Prince opened Gallery Lombardi in 1996 on 3rd & Bowie, his motto has always been, ‘everyone is an artist’. Ron Prince says “If you are a creative person, and you have an opportunity to be creative, consider yourself blessed. The rest is window dressing.” I have been lucky to work in this creative, supportive environment since 2000. I just made a quick count, it seems I’ve directed and/or curated 144 group art shows at Gallery Lombardi. wow. Ron and I both have no regrets and are proud of the artwork we’ve shown and the artists we’ve come to love over the years. We don’t like whiners and sobbers, we do like hearing stories about the best thing you ever saw or did at Gallery Lombardi. I have so many good memories of this creative community, it’s been a dream come true and a learning opportunity for me.
[…] The Xmas Expo will be on view until Jan 10th, come on over and see it. We’re open until 8pm on Thursdays and 2-5pm on Sundays in addition to our normal noon-6pm hours.
[…] Thanks for coming to, […] Gallery Lombardi over the years.
Your support has been meaningful.
I’ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
