‘Bout a year ago, I somehow came across Alyson Fox. I’m clicking through her portfolio and notice her book cover pieces. “Hm, that looks familiar.” I shoot an email to Hector Hernandez to look, get inspired, better understand what he is doing. I’ve been tracking Mr. Hernandez since his “About A Girl” show at Lombardi in 2005, so I’ve seen his portfolio already.
The New Art in Austin announcement is made and I recognize one of the names: Alyson Fox.
If Mr. Hernandez did not apply, maybe he should’ve. Seems to me like he had a decent chance.
What lesson have we learned from this?
