Form of a comic book!
One of my peeps is up to no good. Help a brotha’ out and pre-order your copy. I know it’s supposed to be a parody of the Dark Knight (with a little hint of the man), but I can’t help noticing the remarkable similarity to Jabari Anderson’s (cool guy by the way) “The Night Rider“.
Form of a productive blog!
You can thank Dominick for naggin’ me ’bout the seesaws. I’ma do my best to catch up.
Form of a practical, yet effective cultural plan!
I started wondering ’bout Create Austin and what they’ze been up to. Nothing on their sites, so I decided to read their Task Force Reports (first PDF on this page). It took a while to read, but damn! You know, its definitely okay to call me out if I’m behind on the times. It looks like everything I’ve addressed about our city’s art scene is covered in this report. From collaborations, to residency programs, to funding sources. It’s like they was reading my mind. Or maybe I was reading theirs. YATTA! I have hope for the redevelopment of the Dougherty Arts Center. At least for me, it is being described in between the lines. I hope other, more influential individuals see that as well.
Form of an accurate timeline!
Okay. Further proof that by no means, should I be referred to as an ultimate source. Although, I may be the only one thinking that. I’ll get back to you on that. At Volitant, I saw Nancy Baker’s paintings and thought, “They look Byzantine with anachronisms thrown in.” Yet, when I went to write my review, I stuttered and thought some of the bodies looked kinda Jan van Eyck. That’s up north right? But Northern Renaissance came a little later didn’t it? Oh, well. I went with Early Renaissance just to be safe. Then I read somewhere describing her work as Medieval…
I probably wouldn’t make a good art historian.
I”ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
