- Describe what you see -> what it does
- Connect what you see to what you think its supposed to do
Those are my sketchbook notes from summer 2004. That was when I practically lived in the studios on campus. Seriously, at least ten hours a day, five days a week. It was glorious! I was at a point where I felt I had something to work with, but didn’t know quite how to make my concerns relevant to others. So I asked a prof ’bout critical analysis. These were the three points revealed to me.
Throughout 2005, I found myself consistently reading content that was critiquing some form of media.
I especially took a liking to Roberta Smith’s writing and the rating system on the X-Axis.
In 2006, I started this here blog. You know the rest.
I’ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
