I don’t mind the hits. Its the silence that’s killing me!
Maybe it’s ’cause I’ve been posting with some consistency, but I’m getting a healthy number of hits everyday. Yet nobody is chiming in. I guess I’m just feelin’ lonely.
Anyways, Glasstire has a poll that’s sorta related to our criticism discussion. If I may throw my two bits in, the demise of regional print critics? Not because of bloggers. I’ve touched on this before. Look, newspapers and magazines are all ’bout selling advertisements (Have you watched the Devil Wears Prada?). Oh yeah and they throw in the news and some info, too. We’ve got art bloggers ’cause there are individuals out there willing to provide this service, even though they may not be sanctioned or compensated. Boy, do I wish I was paid for every art related thoughts I push on you. But getting you to think and question and , ahem, discuss is more important.
I’m not asking for gossip or personal attacks. I just want to know that (all sectors of) our community is engaging in the most productive discourse possible.
I’ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
