First, too much fun was had experiencing “Stalemate of the Boozefox“. It is fuckin’ awesome. The gallery will be open whenever Blue Theater is open, so go check it out!
I almost forgot what a great space the Huntington gallery is. Part two of this year’s UT MFA shows at the rechristened Visual Arts Center looks GREAT. Awestruck by a dynamic installation from Scott Proctor (my apologies again) and realized the bittersweet commencement of another round of artists.
Congratulations to all Graduate and Undergrads in area schools earning a degree this year.
AND NOW SOME CAUSE FOR ALARM……
You may have noticed, and I totally admit to it, a lack of actual reviews. Well, an individual amongst you has threatened to usurp my position as independent voice and caped crusader ‘Boutman. Like an old Tom & Jerry cartoon, this person has slapped me with their leather gloves and I in turn have slapped them with an iron gauntlet.
The Battle: Being the benevolent scribe that I am, I have chosen to allow you, the audience, to determine our fates. Tomorrow, you shall read a review by this challenger (hiss! booooo! hiss!). The following day, you shall read a most eloquently composed review by yours truly (hold applause). Every comment posted after each review, both for and against, shall be tabulated. The reviewer with the most reaction will be granted possession of this platform. I shall even postpone my victory dance ’til after voting is complete.
I’ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
