Chloe Yingst is the winner of Eyes Got It! art competition!

Out of 68 artists vying for the top prize, she will have a solo exhibition at Pump Project early next year.
As well as a prize package that includes: gift certificates to Domy Books, Jerrys Artarama and Holland Photo, Guest passes to AMOA & the Blanton, New Art Austin catalogues from AMOA, 1 year memberships to Women and Their Work, Mexic-Arte, Arthouse, The Blanton and Art Lies.

Congratulations to Chloe!

And big thank yous to all who participated.
There were some kinks in the system and I appreciate the patience and support I received.

Decompressing and taking care of some details now.

an art competition during EAST 2010

Are you an artist? Feel like your work is not getting the attention it deserves?
Did AMOA and/or the Texas Biennial skip you over for their group shows?

How would you like a solo exhibition to prove you gots what it takes?

Well, that’s what I’m offering!

I’m finalizing the details, but I have invited a museum curator (Risa Puleo), a gallery director (Rachel Koper), and a successful artist (Sterling Allen) to critique your work.
This esteemed panel of judges will select one artist’s body of work to have a solo exhibition early next year. That’s right, I’m putting you up against New Art Austin and the Texas Biennial.

But I need your help in making a decision:

1. I can either charge a nominal applicant fee and get some software to help go through submissions
   • how much are you willing to pay for this?
     UPDATE: For $10 fee, I’ll need 120 applicants to cover cost
2. or I can forgo the fee and sort the submissions myself
   • this could be too much work if there are a lot of applicants

I guess I’m trying to get an estimate as to how many people are interested and will I be able to cover the cost. Your feedback is appreciated.

Help me with this and I’ll tell you ’bout what I sees.
