So it turns out that I can hit up quite a few spaces because of proximity and late hours on Thursday. Yay!

We’ll see how that goes. While I’m gone (I won’t have internet access. Damn, I need a laptop!), I leave you with this to ponder. Austin is into theater, films and music, but video and performance art don’t seem to be welcome in town. There has been recent interest thanks to Jill Pangallo and Amelia Winger Bearskin’s multiple performances, the founding of Austin Video Bee and Christina Hiett’s help in organizing Cantanker events. That’s not to say AMODA is slackin’. It’s just interesting to watch which venues welcome performances and to what capacity.
Can anybody get me into L_M_N_L? The closing of 1906 has shamed me into trying to get into every art space in town. Help me help them help Austin help me.
