Wow, my first blog. The rumblings from AMOA’s symposium after 22 to Watch debuted called the Austin art community to arms. I was not fortunate enough to be present at the all-day event, but as I understand it, the standard has been somewhat identified and it needs to be set higher if we want to run with the big dogs. Among other things, I want to incite critical analysis about what is being shown around Austin.
First up is Liz Ward at Women and Their Work, opened January 7
Then there will be Ebony Porter at ArtPalace, opening January 14
And then Katalin Hausel at Gallery 3 in the Coop, opening January 26
